about me //

Hi, and Welcome!

My name is Kate and I am currently attending Ball State University where I am studying to be a Journalism teacher. Along with that I am minoring in Literature so I can also teach English in schools, and in Women's & Gender Studies because I think it is important as an educator that I study societal norms so I can try to change the ones that discriminate against others.

During the summer of 2016 I spent six weeks travelling abroad in Greece, where I studied The Apostle Paul in Christianity, Women in Ancient Greek Literature, and Photojournalism. This website is a collection of photos from each site I travelled to, along with captions that will explain each photo. You can also find my resume and work I've done on student media at Ball State. I have also written a reflection of my time in Greece that goes more indepth about my experiences and what I learned on the trip. It was an experience that has grately impacted who I will be not only as a journalist and an educator, but as a person. There's a lot to learn from going abroad, and it can all be found here.

Sincerely,

Kate Smith
